Inferno Triptych - 41.5"x26"

Charon: There, with eyes of glowing coal and other traits
Demonic, Charon gathers them at his beck and call,
Batting with his oar whoever hesitates.
(Inferno III, 109-111)

Abyss of Despair: At last I saw that I was hovering
On the brink of that abyss of despair
Which funnels thunder from endless wailing.
(Inferno IV, 7-9)

Grains of Sand: All of these made a tumult whose presence
Whirled darkly through the timeless air like grains
Of sand in permanent turbulence.
(Inferno III, 28-30)
